The massage therapists at Capital Chiropractic, realise that sports massage therapy is not just for athletes but is for anyone who may be suffering from tight muscles from injury, poor posture or overuse. Common causes of tight and painful muscles out with sports related injuries include poor posture and repetitive actions such as prolonged computer use or driving. Massage therapy is a very effective type of massage to improve muscle and connective tissue health and can help reduce muscle tension, increase muscle flexibility and relieve aching muscles.

Massage Therapy & Chiropractic Care

Muscles play a vital role in both stabilising and moving the joints of the body. This is why muscle problems are nearly always involved with joint dysfunction.Restoring the proper function in these deeper muscles can help to alleviate pain and works with chiropractic care to assist in your recovery and improve your overall health.

At Capital Chiropractic, our therapists understand that everyone is different and they work very closely with your Chiropractor to ensure that each massage session is tailored to your specific health needs and comfort level.

What To Expect

At your first sports massage appointment, you will be asked to complete a short form providing personal details, any relevant medical conditions and any previous (or current) injuries you may be experiencing.  Your massage therapist will also speak to you at the beginning of your appointment to ensure that your needs are met. They will then assess your posture, the soft tissues in your body as well as the range of motion in any joints that may be affected.  Your therapist can then decide on the best treatment plan for you and use a specific treatment modality varying from therapeutic massage, remedial massage, taping and/or dry needling (medical acupuncture) to give you the best results possible.  Your health and well-being are the massage therapists top priority and they will be constantly assessing areas in the muscles for any imbalance, tightness, trigger points or scar tissues. Any appointments you have after this massage with our massage therapists will involve a reassessment to ensure you are getting the most from the treatment. Our therapist will tailor your treatment based on your feedback, fitness levels and if you have any specific goals you want to achieve.
